"Erica has worked for me across multiple development projects, turning complex finance and engineering into meaningful IMs and communication packages. Outstanding, delivers on time and gets the client's needs"

The energy sector's specific design challenges

A few things make energy-sector work different from designing for, say, a B2B or SaaS company.

Technical density without losing the reader. A hydrogen IM has to explain reservoir geology to a generalist VC. An annual report has to satisfy a regulator's compliance officer AND a retail investor flipping through after dinner. The design carries that weight hierarchy, white space, where the chart sits, and what gets pulled into a margin call-out. Erica's been working with this density for 20+ years.

Long content-readiness cycles. Energy briefs rarely arrive content-complete. Technical content is being refined in parallel with the document being built. The studio is set up for this — sample spreads first, content flowed in as it lands, tracked changes through two structured refinement rounds.

Deadline pressure tied to deal windows.
A capital raise has a window. An IPO has a date. EMD has turned around capital-raise IMs in under a fortnight, where the deal cycle required it. Bring the deadline to the scoping call — you'll have a confirmed timeline before the call ends.

Sensitivity around unannounced data. Pre-FID reserves, embargoed earnings, and strategic JVs not yet public. All the routines for this studio. NDAs are signed before the discovery call when needed. Files stored on Australian infrastructure. Never sent to external AI training tools.

What working with the studio looks like

The studio is intentionally a one-person operation. Erica scopes the brief, designs the document, runs the proof rounds, and hands over the press-ready file. There's no project manager translating between you and the designer, and no junior taking the first pass on your IM.

For a sector where the document carries the argument — and where the document changes a lot between draft one and final — that direct line matters. You email Erica. She emails you back. Two structured rounds of feedback in a single shared file. No version-control chaos. No "which file is the latest one?" thirty minutes before a board meeting.

Most clients come back for the next project rather than re-onboarding a new designer. Several have been with the studio for over a decade.

A four-stage process.
No surprises, no agency baton-pass.

01
Discovery
WEEK 1

A 15-minute scoping call. You bring the brief, the deadline, and any existing brand assets.

An NDA is signed first if your material is market-sensitive.

By the end of the day, you have an indicative price and a fixed delivery date in your inbox.

02
Development
WEEKS 1-2

First-pass concept lands as a real, designed sample spread, plus the typographic system the rest of the document will follow.

Not a mood board. Real pages you can hold up against a board agenda.

03
Refinement
WEEKS 2-3

Two structured rounds of feedback in a single shared file.

Tracked changes, no version-control chaos.

You email Erica directly. She emails you back directly.

04
Implementation
WEEK 3+

Press-ready and digital-ready files. PDF with embedded fonts and crop marks for print, RGB-optimised PDF for screen and email, social and email tile exports where requested.

Print management coordinated with Brisbane print partners if needed.

Have a brief in mind? The 15-minute scoping call returns a fixed price the same day.

FAQ's

How does your design process work?

Four stages: Discovery, Development, Refinement, Implementation.

Discovery starts with a 15-minute scoping call and a written brief sign-off, so both sides know exactly what's being made and why.

Development produces a real first-pass concept — sample spreads or designed pages, not mood boards.

Refinement runs two structured rounds of feedback in a single shared file. No version-control chaos.

Implementation delivers press-ready and digital-ready files, plus ongoing tweaks within the engagement window.

The point of contact is always Erica — same designer at the scoping call, the concept review, and the press-ready hand-off. No agency baton-pass, no project manager translating between client and creative.

Most projects begin within the same week as the scoping call.

How long does it typically take?

Information Memorandums and annual reports run 2–4 weeks. Larger or multi-deliverable projects are quoted with their own timeline.

Tighter deadlines are accommodated when capacity allows — the studio has turned around capital-raise IMs and pitch decks in under a fortnight where a deal cycle required it. Bring the deadline to the scoping call; you'll have a confirmed timeline before that 15 minutes is up.

Do you work with clients across Australia?

Yes. The studio is Brisbane-based and works with clients in every Australian capital and across regional areas of Australia, with selected projects in New Zealand, the UK and the US.

Recent corporate clients include Gold Hydrogen, Eastern Metals, Sojitz Blue, MHi Hub, Longreach Regional Council and Woollahra Municipal Council — every project ran end-to-end remotely, with print and production managed wherever the client is based.

Can you work with our existing branding or content?

Yes. Most corporate projects start inside an existing brand. Erica works directly from your style guide, master files, or whatever assets exist (even if it's just a logo and a colour reference).

Where the brand could be lifted alongside the project, that can happen in the same engagement rather than as a separate rebrand. No need to choose between "use what we have" and "start from scratch" before the call.

Do you also handle the brand identity, not just the document?

Yes. Where a brand could be lifted alongside the document project, that can happen in the same engagement rather than as a separate rebrand.

Do you handle confidential pre-FID and unannounced reserves data?

Yes. NDAs are signed before the scoping call when the material is market-sensitive. Files are stored on Australian infrastructure, never reused in third-party marketing without written permission, and never fed into external AI training tools.

Do you help with content, or just the design?

Design is the core of the work, and that includes shaping how content reads on the page — structure, hierarchy, emphasis, white-space. The way information is arranged is half the design.

Where copy needs to be written rather than refined, Erica brings in trusted Brisbane and Sydney copywriters who already know the studio's process and quality bar. You do not need finished copy to start the project — bring what you have to the scoping call, and the rest is mapped from there.

What do you need to get started?

Less than most clients expect. Three things, ideally:
— A rough brief, even a paragraph describing what's being produced and why.
— Any existing brand assets — logo, fonts, style guide, whatever is to hand.
— The deadline.

Content, imagery and proof points can arrive as the project develops. The 15-minute scoping call confirms exactly what's needed before the brief is signed off.

How does pricing work?

Every IM is scoped to your request, your audience, and your deadline. Pricing depends on page count (typical IMs span 25–80 pages), illustration and data-design needs, deadline pressure, and how much content arrives ready versus needing refinement.

The 15-minute scoping call covers all of those, and an indicative price lands in your inbox the same day.

Can you hit a tight deal-cycle deadline?

Yes, when capacity allows. The studio has turned around capital-raise IMs and pitch decks in under a fortnight where a deal cycle required it. Bring the deadline to the scoping call — you'll have a confirmed timeline before that 15 minutes is up.

Have you handled hydrogen / renewables-specific briefs?

Yes. Recent work includes Gold Hydrogen (naturally-occurring hydrogen exploration) and Sojitz Blue. The studio is comfortable with the technical specificity of the emerging energy space.

Can you turn around an IM under a fortnight if the deal cycle requires it?

Yes, where capacity allows. Bring the deadline to the 15-minute discovery call, and you'll have a confirmed timeline before the call ends.

Can you typeset technical energy data — reservoir, resource estimates, ESG metrics?

Yes. The studio is set up for multi-column technical typesetting with proofing rounds against your geological, engineering, or sustainability team's mark-ups.

How is sensitive financial data handled?

Files are stored on Australian infrastructure. Client material is never reused in third-party marketing without written permission and never fed into external AI training tools. Pre-listing and capital-raise material is handled under embargo until the announcement window.
